There Is an End to This Epidemic

There is an end to this epidemic

and a way to keep each other safe.

We must stay six feet apart at all times,

and going in public is certainly not fine,

but even so the virus seems to climb

over the country in a frantic wave.

Although my distancing actions seem right,

I feel like nothing I do is significant.

The school buildings are empty and bare,

and the country is going through quite a scare,

but the anxiety I'm feeling is not rare, and I must remember that

there is an end to this epidemic.

I was not ready for the lasts to take place,

and I was not prepared for those tears to avalanche down my face,

and I don't think I want this to be the end to my high school race,

but I know that there is an end to this epidemic.
